Kling 4.0 API Access: Official, SeedRouter and fal Status

KingVid Teamon 3 days ago

Kling announced the rollout of its Kling 4.0 API on October 21, 2026, at 16:36 UTC. This changes the earlier coming-soon status for the official API. It does not establish that every third-party provider has opened its own Kling 4.0 endpoint, or that every account already has access. Kling's official API announcement.

The clearest example is fal. Its October 21 launch announcement says Kling 4.0 is available through the fal UX and fal Agent, while API access is coming soon. A model being usable inside a platform and being callable from your application are separate availability questions. fal's launch statement.

October 23 update: SeedRouter now publishes a Kling 4.0 API reference with a model ID, request fields, task polling and pricing. That is a documented third-party route, separate from the official rollout and fal's launch status. The details below come from provider documentation; KingVid has not tested a paid request or independently verified account access.

Is the Kling 4.0 API available now?

The official status is rolling out, according to Kling's October 21 announcement. That is a meaningful change from the October 15 full-model launch, when Kling announced web, MCP and CLI access but still listed developer and enterprise API access as coming soon. October 15 availability announcement.

For developers, the useful distinction is between an announced rollout and a verified integration route. Before building against a particular service, confirm that your account can select Kling 4.0 through that service's documented API. An announcement alone does not supply the model identifier, authentication requirements, supported input modes or billing rules.

Start at Kling's official site and follow its developer access and documentation links. Use the documentation attached to the account and service you intend to use. Avoid copying a Kling 3.0 request and changing the version string without a documented Kling 4.0 contract.

Can I call Kling 4.0 through the fal API?

fal's October 21 announcement explicitly limits the launch to its UX and Agent and says API access is coming soon. Based on that statement, access in the fal interface should not be treated as proof of a public fal API endpoint for Kling 4.0.

If your goal is to try the model manually, the announced UX route may serve that need. If your goal is to connect a production application, wait for a documented fal endpoint and confirm access in your account. A separate official Kling API rollout does not automatically change fal's provider-specific availability.

The same distinction applies to an agent workflow. Being able to ask an assistant to create a video does not establish that your own application can call the same underlying service directly.

Does SeedRouter document a Kling 4.0 API?

Yes. Its model page and API reference, checked October 23, document model ID kling-4-0 at POST https://api.seedrouter.ai/v1/videos/generations. The reference covers text, image, reference, edit and extend modes, with 3–30-second settings at 720p or 1080p and stereo sound.

SeedRouter describes an asynchronous workflow: submission returns a task ID; retrieve its result through GET /v1/tasks/{task_id}. Its reference currently says callbacks are unavailable. This matters for an application that expects a webhook before delivering a clip.

The provider's posted standard rate starts at $0.1425 per second for 720p, or $0.7125 for a five-second text-to-video clip. Editing and video-reference jobs use a different calculation that includes input duration. Check the live pricing table for the selected mode; the starting rate is not a quote for every request. SeedRouter pricing.

These are SeedRouter's documented contracts and prices. They do not verify generation quality, account entitlement or the behavior of another provider. KingVid has not run this endpoint. In particular, SeedRouter's documented extension mode does not establish that the same feature is available through Kling's own interface or another API.

Which other platforms have announced Kling 4.0?

Several platforms announced availability on October 21. Their statements describe different access surfaces and controls; they do not establish identical APIs or feature sets.

RouteWhat the original announcement confirmsWhat it does not establish

What should developers verify before integrating?

Choose the route around the workflow you need. Trying a reference-led scene in a browser has different requirements from generating videos automatically for paying customers.

For an application integration, check:

  • Model identity: whether the documented model is Kling 4.0 or Kling 4.0 Flash, and which generation modes it supports.
  • Inputs and controls: the accepted reference types, keyframe structure, duration, resolution and audio options for that exact endpoint.
  • Task lifecycle: how to submit a job, read status, handle failures and obtain the finished asset, including any documented polling or callback behavior.
  • Billing: the quoted cost for your selected settings, plus any retry and failed-generation charging rules.

These are questions to resolve with the selected provider. They are not claims that every listed platform already exposes each control. Likewise, do not assume that a model-family headline such as 30-second generation applies to every endpoint, mode or plan.

Does the API rollout mean native 4K or HDR is live?

No such conclusion follows from the API announcement. The short October 21 official statement announces the API rollout without specifying output resolutions or dynamic range. Higgsfield's own same-day announcement still marks native 4K as coming soon.

Verify resolution and HDR separately for the exact route you choose. SeedRouter's checked API reference lists 720p and 1080p. A launch video, a 4K upload or an output specification from another platform does not establish the native format of your API result.

Can I generate with Kling 4.0 on KingVid?

Kling 4.0 is not yet integrated into the KingVid generator. The official API announcement makes integration research more actionable, but callable model identity, supported parameters and credit costs still need verification before the website offers it.
